Multiple Hurt as Turbulence Impacts A Delta Airlines Aircraft into Sydney, Australia
A number of individuals were hurt after a Delta Airlines jet from LA to Sydney experienced turbulence on Friday morning.
Flight DL41 "encountered brief turbulence" as it made its approach and landed at Sydney Airport, a representative for the carrier informed. Four flight attendants were injured.
Emergency medical services stated they treated a total of five people, and took three to the hospital with relatively minor issues that included back pain and head pain. Those affected were between their 30s to 70s.
This marks the latest incident of aircraft experiencing turbulence, with researchers indicating that climate change is a significant contributor.
On board were 245 people and 15 crew members on the aircraft, the representative added, clarifying that the plane arrived "safely and normally" at the airport at 6:48 a.m. local time on the day in question.
The NSW Ambulance Service said they received a call just only 180 seconds prior to the plane landed, and response teams were standing by on the runway.
